All the images in this catalogue were filmed with 3CCD digital movie cameras with special
water-resistant casing for underwater use. The sequences are all in PAL format. The clips are delivered on miniDV tape (on CD should the order be for a small number of sequences). No additional compression is made to the final product in which the only compression is that of the camcorder in accordance with DV and miniDV standards. The demonstration clips present on this site are compressed in DIVX (average quality) and in 384X288 format, to see them it is necessary to have the codec which can be downloaded free of charge from the site www.divx.com It should be pointed out that the purpose of the clips in the present catalogue is to provide an indication of the contents of the sequence, and so it is obvious that the qualitative level of the final product is decidedly superior to that of the demonstration clips present here. All the images of this catalogue were filmed in the Mediterranean in the open sea. None of the images were filmed in acquariums. |

| TWO REMARKS ON THE AUDIO |
|
The audio of the underwater images is very similar for all the sequences and consists mainly in
the noise of bubbles produced by the underwater operator. In some cases the original audio might be disturbed by external factors e.g. noise of boat engines, bips of underwater computers, accidental jarring of the microphone, etc. La PlanctonVideo, to overcome such a problem definitively, has decided to supply some underwater audio loops selected for the clips that do not have acceptable audio.
